How to Improve the Customers Experience when Visiting Your Website on Mobile and Tablets.

Many businesses are still ignoring the importance of allowing their websites to be seen on mobile phones and tablets.  Studies suggest mobile is driving 10 percent of visitors to ecommerce websites, although, conversion rates are still lower than a website displayed on a desktop computer.  The best way to increase your conversion rate is to involve your customers throughout the development of your online business.

Here are five tips we hope will help you out.

1.  Meet your customers expectations
Customers tend to like seeing the same key functionality or services they see on your main website.  You may have to rethink your design to ensure these functions are visible when using mobiles and tablets.

2.  Knowing how your customer uses mobile
Many users tend to use their mobile phones when in store.  They will be checking your competitions price's against yours.  You need to work out what you can offer the user to keep them in your store and buying your products.

3.  Asking for too much information
Mobiles do not come with a keyboard or mouse attached.  It is very frustrating for a user to try and complete forms whilst using a mobile, often users will give and complete the form when they get home; that is if they haven't already forgotten about you.  Find some way to remember your visitors and welcome them back, identify they are using a mobile devise and find an easy way for them to get to your purchase or order button.

4.  Data allowance
The majority of users are going to have data restrictions.  Do not frustrate customers with unnecessary page loads.  Think about the best way for a mobile user to work their way around your website.

5.  Test
Ask some customers to test your website, be that on a desktop, mobile or tablet.  It is the best way to find out how users interact with your website.  You will then be able to streamline or remove any pitfalls.
